Control Macbook Fan

Fan control automated by default. But, sometimes the temperature percept in my hand just doesn't feel right, it's too hot. So, to increase the blow increment the fan minimum speed using the following command.

# value=4000
# echo $value | sudo tee /sys/devices/platform/applesmc.768/fan1_min

The $value can be set between 0 - 6199 in my case.

Fan not blowing, is it broken?

Well, maybe the fan quiet enough to be hear. But, on the speed around 6000, it will be noisy enough. If it is not, maybe some parameter is incorect.

Fan Manual Mode Active

Fan has two mode so far I know: auto and manual. Set to manual so that the driver aware of fan1_min parameter we've set.

# echo 0 | sudo tee /sys/devices/platform/applesmc.768/fan1_manual
